‘Design Live’ Architectural Tour: A Collaboration Between IDD and Anakata Series

While the Indonesia Design District (IDD) may still be a hidden gem to the general public, it's already a landmark destination for professionals in the fields of architecture and design. Situated in the rapidly developing area of Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 in North Jakarta, IDD stands as the largest center for building materials in Indonesia. More than just a commercial hub, IDD introduces a unique compound space concept that blends curated showrooms, architectural exploration, and design innovation into a cohesive urban environment.

In May 2025, IDD partnered with Anakata Series—an event platform dedicated to architecture and design—to launch Design Live, an exclusive architectural tour and live discussion. This initiative aimed to spark meaningful dialogue among design practitioners, using the IDD complex itself as a living case study.

The tour spotlighted two compelling architectural narratives from different perspectives. Design Live exemplified IDD’s role as more than just a physical destination—it is a vibrant, evolving design ecosystem. The spaces within IDD are animated not only by leading brands, but also by stories, collaborations, and communities that drive the future of Indonesian design forward.
