Discover Local Art and Craft Creations at Artisan Alley
During Indonesia Design Week 2025
From September 12–20, 2025, the Indonesia Design District (IDD) PIK2 became the center of attention with a range of inspiring programs. One of the highlights was Artisan Alley, a collaboration between ICAD and IDW 2025, featuring a bazaar of local artworks and crafts at the Mandapa Lobby.
This program showcased creations from 51 artisans and brands across various mediums — ceramics, wood, rattan, natural stone, resin, and mixed materials — all emphasizing sustainable design.
Each product carried its own story, reflecting the creative journey, cultural values, and spirit of exploration behind its making.
Among the featured participants were renowned names such as Dolorosa Sinaga, Panji Wisesa, Denny R. Priyatna, Yabolela Studio x Adhi Nugraha, and Conture Concrete Lab, each presenting distinctive works that reinterpreted contemporary design through their unique lenses.
Beyond being a space for appreciation, Artisan Alley also played a vital role in empowering local artisans and small creative enterprises (UMKM). Through exposure at a national-scale event like IDW, these makers gained opportunities to expand networks, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, and introduce their products to broader markets.
For visitors, Artisan Alley offered a warm and authentic experience — from witnessing the beauty of natural materials up close to engaging directly with the creators themselves.
It demonstrated how design can emerge from tradition, evolve through innovation, and stay grounded in local values.
With a spirit of collaboration and sustainability, Artisan Alley stood out as one of the main highlights of IDW 2025 — a celebration of local craftsmanship that redefines design as a symbol of Indonesian identity and pride.
