Indonesia in Focus: A Photo Exhibition at SaloneSatellite

As part of its presence at SaloneSatellite, the Indonesia Design District (IDD) presents Skilled Craftsmanship + Innovation, a photo exhibition that highlights the intersection of tradition and forward-thinking design within Indonesia’s creative industry.

Curated by Ipeng Widjojo, the exhibition brings together a selection of visual narratives that reflect the depth of local craftsmanship and its evolution through innovation. Each photograph captures not only the final product, but also the process, material exploration, and cultural values embedded within Indonesian design practices.

The featured works include contributions from leading brands and makers such as Alvint, Vivere, Chenergy, Gaya Ceramic, and Bika. Each of these names represents a distinct approach to craftsmanship ranging from material innovation to refined production techniques while staying rooted in Indonesian identity.
