The Thrill of Office Chair Racing at the FIRM Office Grand Prix During Indonesia Design Week 2025

Among the many exciting programs at Indonesia Design Week (IDW) 2025, one of the most unique and entertaining was the FIRM Office Grand Prix (OGP).

Held for the second time at the Indonesia Design District (IDD) PIK2, this event offered a refreshing experience — an exhilarating office chair race filled with fun and energy.

Initiated by FIRM, a modern office furniture brand under Malka, the OGP was born from a vision to build a dynamic, collaborative, and functional work culture. Through this race, FIRM not only showcased the innovation behind its ergonomic office chair designs but also embodied the collaborative spirit that defines today’s modern workplaces.

The office chairs used in this competition were high-standard ergonomic chairs, engineered for stability, agility, and optimal responsiveness — perfect for speeding across the race track.

This year’s edition introduced a new and more exciting format. In each round, players could switch racers right after passing a relay post and completing the designated number of laps.
This rule added tension and strategy to the game — as victory depended not only on speed, but also on team coordination and tactics.

At OGP 2025, every detail played a role: from precise chair maneuvers and driver switches to maintaining posture during the race.
Each element was designed to mirror the dynamics of professional work life — full of strategy, collaboration, and adaptability.

With its unique concept, OGP was more than just an office chair race — it became a celebration of creativity and teamwork, wrapped in a lively and competitive atmosphere.

More than 60 participants from 20 corporate teams took part in eight thrilling rounds, navigating tactical obstacles and relay challenges.
For this year’s event, the FIRM OGP championship title was claimed by Team Bika Living.
