A Collective Expression of Art & Design

Throughout Indonesia Design Week 2026, art installations became an important part of the experience, bringing together design, art, and creative expression through a diverse range of concepts and collaborations.

Created by renowned designers, creative studios, brands, and communities, the installations explored different perspectives on how design can shape the way we experience a space. From bold artistic expressions to thoughtful explorations of materials, technology, and sustainability, each installation offered its own interpretation of contemporary design.

Collaboration was at the heart of many of these works. Designers came together with brands, artists, makers, and creative communities to develop installations that went beyond visual appeal, creating meaningful encounters between people, ideas, and spaces.

Sustainability also emerged as an important thread across the installations, with various works exploring responsible materials, local craftsmanship, reuse, and more conscious approaches to design. These perspectives reflect a growing awareness of how creativity can contribute to a more sustainable future without compromising innovation or aesthetics.

More than objects to look at, the art installations at Indonesia Design Week invited visitors to pause, interact, and experience design from different perspectives—turning spaces throughout IDD into places for discovery, conversation, and creative exchange.
