Bringing Perspectives, Design and Communities Together Through Design Talks
A thought-provoking conversations exploring diverse perspectives across architecture, design, hospitality, retail, technology, education, materials, and creative practice.
Design Talks: Where Perspectives and Design Communities Meet
From 19–27 September 2026, Townhall at Indonesia Design District became a meeting point for ideas, perspectives and conversations during Indonesia Design Week 2026.
As part of The Collective Culture, the Design Talks programme brought together a wide range of topics reflecting the many ways design shapes our everyday lives. From architecture and interior design to hospitality, retail, education, technology, materials and creative practice, each session opened a different perspective on the industry and its evolving landscape.
The conversations explored how design moves across borders, disciplines and communities. They looked at the role of technology and AI in the creative process, the relationship between design and education, the importance of thoughtful materials and details, and the ways architecture, retail and hospitality can create more meaningful experiences.
Beyond professional practice, the talks also created space to discuss the ideas and stories behind design—how creative work is developed, how spaces respond to people and place, and how collaboration can lead to new perspectives.
Over nine days, Townhall became a space for exchange: where professionals could share knowledge, emerging ideas could be explored, and different creative communities could come together.
More than a series of talks, Design Talks at Indonesia Design Week 2026 was a reflection of what The Collective Culture is about—bringing different perspectives together and allowing new ideas to emerge through conversation.
