Buyers from several countries recently visited Indonesia Design District to see how they can work together with Indonesian design and furniture businesses. The visit was meant to look at the potential for collaboration that can be developed. During the visit, the buyers joined a meeting and discussion session with local business players, where a presentation was shared to give a picture of the opportunity ahead for Indonesia’s design industry.
The presentation pointed out that Indonesia already has a lot to offer, including talents, brands, creators, manufacturers, and communities. But it still lacks an integrated ecosystem, an international bridge, a collaborative platform, and a design destination. The main message was clear: Indonesia needs a platform that connects ideas, industry, culture, and global collaboration.
The discussion gave both sides a chance to talk directly. For the buyers, it was a chance to understand what Indonesian businesses can offer, and for local players, a chance to hear what international buyers are looking for. Visits like this to Indonesia Design District open the door for Indonesian businesses to meet international buyers in person, with the hope that these meetings grow into long-term partnerships and bring Indonesian design to more markets around the world.
