Exploring Design in Practice: Interior Design Students from Petra Christian University Visit Indonesia Design District
Indonesia Design District (IDD) recently welcomed a group of students from the Interior Design program at Petra Christian University for an inspiring educational visit. The trip provided the students with the opportunity to explore the dynamic design ecosystem within IDD and gain valuable insights from real-world design environments.
During the visit, the students toured several tenants across Indonesia Design District, observing a diverse range of interior concepts, materials, spatial planning, and design approaches implemented by different brands. The experience allowed them to see how theoretical knowledge from the classroom is translated into actual commercial spaces.
Throughout the tour, students engaged in discussions about design trends, functionality, and customer experience within retail and lifestyle environments. By directly experiencing various showrooms and design-focused spaces, they were able to better understand how creative ideas are executed in professional settings.
The visit also encouraged students to broaden their perspectives on contemporary interior design, materials innovation, and spatial storytelling. Each tenant offered unique inspiration, giving the students fresh ideas that may influence their future projects and design thinking.
Through initiatives like this, Indonesia Design District continues to support learning and collaboration within the creative community, providing a platform where students, designers, and industry players can connect, explore, and grow together.
