The event marks the return of Indonesia’s largest design festival, set to take place from 12–20 September 2025 at Indonesia Design District (IDD) PIK2. Carrying the theme “Ideantity”, this year’s edition invites the creative community to rediscover Indonesia’s identity through design while positioning the country as an active contributor to the global design conversation.

During the press conference, organizers unveiled a diverse lineup of programs ranging from exhibitions, installations, and talks to playful competitions that make design more inclusive and engaging. Highlights include the Townhall Installations featuring SMEG x Museum Macan, AHEC, KOHLER, and the IMPAX Sustainability Project, Mamagreen, Milimeter Manifesto, and Viro x Tulola.

ICAD By The Bay, showcasing more than 60 artists and designers; and Artisan Alley at Mandapa with 51 local craft and design brands. Adding a lighter touch, the quirky Firm Office Grand Prix office chair race returns, blending creativity with fun. This year’s IDW also welcomes prominent international figures, such as Marva Griffin, Founder of SaloneSatellite, who bring global insights into design, sustainability, and inclusivity. The festival further strengthens its commitment to nurturing future talent through student exhibitions and guided insight tours for universities and creative communities, offering young designers a platform to showcase bold ideas and innovative perspectives.

The press conference also emphasized the strong support behind IDW 2025, including the official banking partner BNI, Ministry of Creative Economy (EKRAF RI), and main sponsors such as Snaidero, Smeg, Bosch, and Kohler. Representatives from embassies across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East are also confirmed to attend the festival’s opening, reflecting strong international recognition. With its cross-disciplinary programs, IDW 2025 is set to become a landmark event where Indonesian identity meets global creativity.
