Plank Chair: An Indonesian Design Featured in the SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection
An Indonesian-designed chair takes its place among the works showcased in SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection 1998–2026, currently on view at Townhall, Indonesia Design District (IDD), PIK 2, until 18 October 2026.
The work is the Plank Chair by Hendro Hadinata of Studio Hendro Hadinata, developed in collaboration with Indonesian furniture brand EVERY Collections. Featured among 55 selected works in the exhibition, the chair represents a local design perspective within an international collection celebrating the evolution of contemporary furniture and product design.
Based in Jakarta, Studio Hendro Hadinata is a creative practice founded in 2016, working across furniture, product design, and art objects. For the Plank Chair, the collaboration with EVERY Collections brings Indonesian design into a wider conversation about the relationship between designers, manufacturers, and the objects that shape everyday life.
Now presented in Jakarta as part of the SaloneSatellite exhibition, the Plank Chair offers local visitors the opportunity to encounter the work in person. Its presence also creates a meaningful connection between an Indonesian design practice and an international collection, bringing the story of the chair closer to the place where its designer is based.
