The Blueprint of Control: AFAIR UI’s Perspective on Architecture Today

AFAIR UI at IDD presents “The Blueprint of Control” as a week-long creative experience that brings together exhibitions, presentations, talk shows, and discussions to show how young architects interpret and shape the future of architecture.

When young ideas take over the room, the future of architecture starts to feel real.
This week, the Townhall at Indonesia Design District (IDD), PIK 2, transforms into a living gallery of creativity as AFAIR UI – Architecture Fair arrives from 20–26 January 2026. Organized by students of the Architecture Program, Universitas Indonesia, the event invites visitors to explore how the next generation of architects views the world through the theme “The Blueprint of Control.” More than just an exhibition, AFAIR UI is a week-long experience where design, dialogue, and experimentation come together in one space.

At the heart of the event is a diverse exhibition running throughout the week, featuring architecture projects, photography works, and poster installations that interpret control in spatial, social, and emotional contexts. Each piece reflects how design can influence behavior, structure environments, and shape everyday life. The space itself becomes part of the narrative, immersive, thought-provoking, and open to multiple interpretations. Visitors can also enjoy a dedicated photobooth corner, turning the exhibition into a place not only to observe, but also to participate and create memories.

From 21–23 January, the Townhall will host student presentations, where selected works are explained directly by their creators. These sessions give audiences a deeper look into the design process behind each project, how concepts are formed, tested, and translated into physical or visual forms. The conversation continues on 24–25 January with a series of talk shows and design debriefs, featuring founders, co-founders, creative directors, designers, and interior professionals from various creative fields. These sessions bridge the gap between academic ideas and real-world practice, offering insights into how control, systems, and human behavior are navigated in professional design environments.

AFAIR UI at IDD is more than an event. It is a week of ideas, conversations, and practices shaping architecture today and beyond. Set within Indonesia Design District, a hub for design, lifestyle, and innovation, the fair reflects IDD’s spirit as a meeting point for creative communities. Whether you come to explore, learn, connect, or simply be inspired, AFAIR UI proves that the next blueprint is already being drawn, right here, right now.
